Philip is a Georgia native and a former full time musician. In 2007, he met his wife Becca in Memphis while traveling and playing drums. In 2009, they were married and moved to Raleigh for Philip to pursue his Masters of Divinity at Southeastern Seminary, where he went on to complete his Ph.D. in Theology as well. Prior to planting Redeemer City Church, Philip served as one of the associate and discipleship pastors and elders at the Summit Church in Raleigh-Durham, NC, for over 10 years. It was here that the Smiths were discipled and developed to plant Redeemer City in 2022. Philip is an avid coffee drinker, loves books, college football (Go Dawgs!), and being a dad to his four beautiful (and very energetic) children, Elliot, Asher, Tessa, and Milly. He is excited to watch God continue to move and grow the people of Redeemer City, aiming to help people in Greenville find and follow Jesus, bringing redemption to our city and to the nations.

Jered is a native Texan who met his wife Katie while at Oklahoma Baptist University in 2008. After they got married in 2012, they moved to Raleigh where Jered completed his Masters of Divinity at Southeastern Seminary. They have four wonderful children, Hallie, Jesse, Henry, and Judah. As the Associate Pastor, he oversees three of the primary ministries of the church, adult discipleship, family ministry, and missions. He enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, listening to music, hiking and kayaking, and doing home projects.

Kaylyn is a Spartanburg native, and has been married to Grant for 8 years. Shortly after getting married, they moved to Raleigh to pursue their love for missions and sending through The Summit Church, where Kaylyn was on staff in various roles. The Claytons have two children, Annie and Hamilton, and a yellow lab named Teal. As Operations Director, Kaylyn oversees the church’s operations and processes, HR, and environments. Kaylyn is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of all God is doing in Greenville and loves partnering with Redeemer City as we seek to follow and enjoy Jesus and make His name known in our city and around the world.

Chris grew up in a small town in eastern North Carolina on a family farm. While attending NC State, he married his high school sweetheart Macayla. Shortly after, they decided to put their “yes” on the table and pursue Christ's call on their lives through moving and helping plant, Redeemer City Church in 2022. Chris is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity in Missiology at Southeastern Seminary and in his free time enjoys playing sports, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends. Chris plans and leads our weekly worship services and directs our college ministry, “Redeemer College.” Chris hopes that every college student in Greenville would one day hear the gospel of Jesus Christ and that they become a movement of disciple-making-disciples.

Kayte is a Williamston, South Carolina native. She attended college at Columbia College and received her Masters of Arts in Christian Counseling from The Southern Seminary. She has been married to her husband, Kevin for 16 years and together they have 3 children, Kayden, Kyle, and Khristian. Kayte came to faith in Christ at the age of 9, and has been pursuing her relationship with Him since college. She enjoys meeting new people and sharing what the Lord has done in her life and in the lives of those around her. As Ministry Coordinator, Kayte manages our member database and church events calendar. She will also be helping to care for members as needs arise.

Moses was born and raised in India in a Christian household & came to know Jesus at 8 years old. He came to the United States in 2010 to pursue Christian education, where he graduated from Southeastern Seminary with an M.Div. in Biblical Studies. Currently, Moses is pursuing a PhD in Old Testament at Southeastern Seminary with the desire to eventually teach pastors and lay people how to interpret the Bible and teach it to others. He married his wife Shekinah in the summer of 2022. Together, they are excited to serve here at Redeemer City and find great joy in connecting with others through quality time and bible study.

Philip grew up in Thailand as a missionary kid and met his wife Morgan in the United States while in college. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity in Christian Ministry at Southeastern Seminary and loves reading books, playing sports, eating good food, and going on walks with his family. He oversees our Guest Services team and Assimilation processes. He is excited and passionate about reaching the lost in Greenville while equipping others to do the same.

Drew is a North Carolina native who came to Christ at the age of 18. He has the joy of journeying through life and marriage alongside his wife, Makayla, and parenting their beautiful daughter, Colette. Drew is passionate about preaching God’s word, caring for church members, and seeing the gospel get to those who have never heard of Jesus. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry at Southeastern Seminary where he also received his Bachelors in Biblical Studies and a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry. As Student Director, Drew is teaching, discipling, and leading students while partnering with families to raise a generation who follow Jesus, enjoy Jesus, and make Jesus known.
